South African Government to repatriate journalist Nat Nakasa's remains, after 50 years

The Minister of Arts and Culture of the Republic of South Africa, Mr. Nathi Mthethwa will lead a delegation of government officials and family members to New York for the disinterment of mortal remains of journalist and writer, Nathaniel Nakasa.
In commemoration of the life of Mr. Nakasa, a memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, 16 August 2014, at the Broadway Presbyterian Church, 601 West 114th Street, in New York City. The event is open to the public and will be held to celebrate the life of Mr. Nakasa, as well as, to express appreciation to the American community for taking care of Mr. Nakasa for the past fifty years and to consolidate cultural relations between South Africa and the United States.
The programme will feature a line-up of speakers including South African government officials, Nakasa’s family members as well as his former colleagues.
